Product Engineering Manager

Yuasa Battery, Inc., the leading manufacturer and distributor of power sports batteries located in Laureldale, Pennsylvania is searching for an experienced Product Engineering Manager. This is a professional position responsible for the growth by developing new and improved products, processes, and components.

Essential Job Functions include:

  • Plans and directs battery design development projects.
  • Manages component and part evaluation and analysis.
  • Manages vendor and technical development and assistance.
  • Manages product testing and subsequent reports.
  • Other reporting and duties as assigned.
  • Supervises the Product Engineering department.
  • Sets priorities for the Product Engineering team.
  • Set goals and objectives for staff members.

OEM Account Representative

Yuasa Battery, Inc., the leading manufacturer and distributor of power sports batteries located in Laureldale, Pennsylvania is searching for an experienced OEM Account Representative.

This position is responsible for coordinating the internal resources to successfully satisfy customer requests and inquiries of our key domestic and OE and OES accounts.

The ideal candidate will be results driven and have strong customer client focus and account management skills.  Qualified applicants should be detail oriented, possess superior communication and organizational skills and have a strong sense of urgency.

Essential Job Functions include:

  • Manage sales inquiries, price quotations, pricing negotiations, contract reviews/negotiations and other sales activities related to OE/OES accounts.
  • Manage allocations and sales volumes for the OE customers as per the approved sales agreements with each customer.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key OE/OES accounts.
  • Responsible for forecasting and planning of accounts.
  • Assist and coordination of VA/VE activities and initiatives.
  • Conduct regular customer visits, prepare customer presentations.

Senior Cost Accountant/Analyst
This is a professional position responsible for contributing to the profitability of Yuasa by providing accurate, timely and actionable financials as it relates to the production and costs of manufacturing.
    Duties/Responsibilities:
      Inventory
      • Assist the Director of Finance with the annual physical and daily cycle count process.
      • Investigate cycle count variances and resolve issues.
      • Prepare and update the standard costs.
      • Audit and control the Bills of Materials, routings, and overhead applications used in production.
      • Validate and analyze the cost of goods sold monthly.
      • Maintain an adequate reserve for obsolescence and dispose of obsolete inventory within the Delegation of Authority.
      Accounting, Analysis, and Other Duties
      • Prepare month-end journal entries as they relate to the manufacturing and distribution.
      • Prepare, journal, and analyze the valuation of commodities (lead) and maintain required reserves.
      • Provide reports on material usage, labor productivity and efficiency, and overhead use to assist manufacturing and distribution with improvements and cost containment.
      • Provide analysis on breakeven points by products, work centers, etc. as needed.
      • Provide reports and analysis on variances in spending, efficiencies, and productivity.
      • Report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending and efficiency variances.
      • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting and budget processes by providing necessary information as it relates to manufacturing, inventory, and warehousing.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      Yuasa Battery Inc., headquartered in Laureldale, PA, is currently searching for a qualified, high-energy experienced Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to work in our Laureldale facility on 2nd shift or 3rd shift (1:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. or 9:30 p.m. to 5:45 a.m.)
        Qualified candidates will be expected to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all facility equipment to meet or exceed company established Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) expectations and customer quality expectations.           Qualified Candidates must possess the following:
          • PLC experience to aid in machine diagnosing
          • Strong knowledge of trouble shooting techniques to determine exact problems and how to address them
          • Experience with control systems
          • Advance understanding of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
          • Welding (Mig preferred)
          • Basic understanding of drawings and how to use them to aid in repair and installation
          • Experience with shop equipment such as (lathes, mills, drill press, hydraulic press, etc.)

          • Perform scheduled pre-maintenance tasks and rebuild to maintain working equipment
          • Must comply with all company safety regulations (lockout/tagout, high-lift, scrissor-lift)

          • Must be dedicated to a team work atmosphere and effectively communicate system problems to co-workers and management
          • Must have strong computer skills.
          • Must be capable of lifting 50#
          • Experience with robotics is a plus.
