- Manages a team of multidisciplinary design engineers and by supporting the quality, procurement and manufacturing organizations with designs and processes that provide consistent yield and the appropriate balance of quality and cost.
- Leads the organization in implementing workload and management tools and in developing and following processes that support product quality, operational efficiency, and innovative flexibility.
- Works closely with the engineering team to take new concepts through the product design phase and transition them to manufacturing. Supports existing products with yield, cost, and performance improvements.
- Builds and manages the process engineering team to support manufacturing efficiently and effectively in process capabilities and improvements.
- Shapes the organization’s structure, systems, and processes to achieve continuous improvement and cost reduction while preserving the responsive, entrepreneurial atmosphere necessary to capitalize on customer and market opportunities.
- Manages CapEx budget, set timelines, and oversee projects managed by engineering to keep projects on track to meet the expectations set at the beginning of the project.
- Partners with Sr. V.P. of Operations & Engineering, sales, production planning, automation engineering and manufacturing to develop the mid-term and 5-Year plans to meet the sales forecast for CapEx investments to support the sales growth.
- Drives productivity and quality improvements with cross-functional teams consisting of engineering, quality, manufacturing, and maintenance personnel.
- Creates development and succession plans for the team.

- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent projects.
- Able to specify, select and implement a variety of process management tools.
- Experienced in implementing best practice engineering methods.
- Able to provide technical guidance to engineering teams and executive team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
- 8-10 years’ experience in the battery industry in an engineering role.
- Analyze the current method of production to fully understand the current processes and perform GAP analysis to expose areas of opportunities for improvement.
- Research alternative, more automated processes to improve safety, product quality and productivity. Create reports and presentations for the Director of Engineering and the Executive Team.
- Develop alternative methods of making manufacturing practices more efficient and cost effective; look at space constraints, material requirements and current needs to improve.
- Manage Capital Expenditure projects for normal tooling replacement by creating a tracking and replacement process based on machine cycles.
- Analyze machine downtime reports and OEE to assist maintenance in prioritizing, improving Predictive/Preventive maintenance tasks and work with Manufacturing to implement operator based Preventive maintenance tasks.
- Continue to develop professional expertise and proficiencies by periodically participating in classes, conferences, and other developmental opportunities.
- Liaison with a team of machinery operators, managers and product developers on improvement ideas, new equipment requirements and implementation.
- Work to provide solutions to leadership when presented with manufacturing concerns.

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical or Mechanical).
- 3 to 5 years of experience in engineering environment; preferably manufacturing.
- Knowledge of computer design and engineering software.
