Automation Engineer
Yuasa Battery, Inc., the leading manufacturer and distributor of power sports batteries located in Laureldale, Pennsylvania is searching for a results-oriented Automation Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing automation projects to improve productivity, quality and consistency while reducing manual operations in the manufacturing and distribution areas of the plan. Essential Functions:
  • Work in conjunction with the Plant Engineering Manager on the 5-year plan of automation and improvement projects.
  • Provide input for CapEx budget.
  • Design, program, simulate and test automated machinery and processes to reduce manual labor and reduce discrepancies in manufacturing.
  • Create equipment specifications for new equipment.
  • Manage automation and new equipment project; controlling costs to budget while meeting deadlines.

Case Formation and DC Planner

We are currently searching for a Case Formation and DC Planner.  This is a senior role within the supply chain function which is responsible for developing schedules for battery activation and finishing in line with customer expectations.  This role will interface heavily with production and sales to determine priorities while working within capacity constraints.

This role will gain a full understanding of the elements of the supply chain.

Responsibilities:

  • Review sales forecast data, customer supplied quotes and actuals sales orders to determine the most efficient operating schedule in the battery activation and DC finishing lines.
  • Limit changeovers and create a cohesive plan that allows for the shortest amount of time to change over between runs.
  • Monitor and Cycle count inventory of finishing supplies
  • Analyze forecasts and production plan to determine where course corrections may be necessary
  • Other reporting and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Prior customer service or Planning experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Strong Excel skills required.
  • Experience with Navision a plus.

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating all inbound and outbound freight, and supervising the associates unloading and loading product.

Essential Functions:

    • Receive inbound freight for dropship orders.
    • Maintain 49 CFR certifications.
    • Ship all outbound freight.
    • Reconcile receipts.

    • Use the third-party transportation site to ensure the best price for YBIA.

    Maintenance Manager

    We are currently searching for a qualified and reliable Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance department. As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for managing all installation, repair and upkeep operations of our company’s facilities. Update the preventive maintenance programs for all new production machinery and equipment.
    • Control and coordinate all equipment materials and supplies required for replacement, repair, plant expansion, and improvement projects.
    • Direct the continual care of plant facilities in a manner which will result in well-maintained buildings and operational equipment, improved operating, material handling methods, and reduced costs.
    • Develop short- and long-term planning, objectives, programs, goals, and department budget and cost controls.
    • Continually communicate with the manufacturing and distribution center to meet the critical production priorities.
    • Work with engineering regarding equipment modifications and facility improvements that will improve plant performance, product quality and reduce costs.
    • Recommend expense or capital projects to the Plant Engineer to improve the operational efficiency of the facility.
    • Execute plant capital projects, including scope development, bidding, submitting capital requests for internal review, and coordination of project completion.
    • Direct and control the plans and specifications for outside contracting work (i.e. bidding process), priority, through the direction of the Plant Engineer and/or the V.P. of Operations and Engineering.
    • Oversee the maintenance cost center to ensure all maintenance objectives and projects are completed on time and within budget/ forecast.
    • Ensure compliance of environmental, health, and safety programs by employees and contractors working during the shift.
    • Ensure safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues.
    • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
    • Manage Maintenance Stock Room Attendant and his tasks.

    Qualifications:

    • Five to seven years of experience in a maintenance manager role.  Experience in battery manufacturing environment a plus.
    • Minimum of an associate degree in business management or engineering or equivalent experience.
    • Highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude and the ability to handle multiple functions at one time in a fast-paced environment.

    Yuasa Battery Inc., headquartered in Laureldale, PA, is currently searching for a qualified, high-energy experienced Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to work in our Laureldale facility on 3rd shift.
      (9:30 p.m. - 5:45 a.m.).
        Qualified candidates will be expected to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all facility equipment to meet or exceed company established Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) expectations and customer quality expectations.

            *Responsibilities Include*

            Inventory:
            • Assist the Controller with the annual physical and daily cycle count process.
            • Investigate cycle count variances and resolve issues.
            • Prepare and update the standard costs.
            • Audit and control the Bills of Materials, routings, and overhead applications used in production.
            • Validate and analyze the cost of goods sold monthly.
            • Maintain ledgers for the perpetual inventory; provide reconciliations and analysis as required.

            Accounting, Analysis, and Other Duties:
            • Prepare month-end journal entries as they relate to the manufacturing and distribution.

            • Prepare PPV analysis and appropriate entries.
            • Prepare, journal, and analyze the valuation of commodities (lead) and maintain required reserves.
            • Provide reports on material usage, labor productivity and efficiency, and overhead use to assist manufacturing and distribution with improvements and cost containment.
